I am in love with Daniel Henney!!! He is the 2nd male lead in the hit Korean drama "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" in case you don't know him. However, I'm quite sure you'd have seen his pictures somewhere, sometime in your life because he was a model not only in the U.S. but also in Taiwan and Hong Kong prior to this. He even participated in the Paris and Milan Fashion Collections show! He is mixed, half Korean, half British and I think that what makes him so gorgeous!!!
I am tempted to post his pictures here but you know, it'll lag all your computers and possibly cause them to explode or something because the pictures may be too hot for them to handle. Plus it'll probably be hazardous to your health. I'm kidding. I just can't choose a picture to post. All are really nice! Haha! I'll make a layout of him after the exams! If you really want to know how he looks like, think Daniel Wu and Kim Sung Soo. They bear quite a similar resemblance to him. And all I like!! ^_^

Enough about that. So lately, I've been keeping my spirits up by watching Korean variety shows. I've just caught 2 different variety shows so let me talk a little about them. YaShim ManMan is a gameshow where the guest stars have to guess the top 5 answers of a survey on a particular topic held in advance answered by MSN messenger users ranging from teens to forty-year-olds. If a star guesses wrongly, he/she'll get blown in the face. It's really interesting and laugh-out-loud funny!
The other gameshow is called X-man, where two teams compete against each other in fun games. So basically, every week, someone becomes the "X-man" and he/she basically has to deliberately lose to the other team without being too obvious. The players will then have to guess who's the X-man for the week. The games the stars compete in are hilarious! There's the "butt pushing" game where a representive from each team try to push the other out of the circle using his/her butt and the "of course" game where a representive from each team teases and insults each other openly and his/her opponent must agree to whatever the insult. The person who manages to stop the other from saying "of course" wins. I really enjoyed watching the stars, so sporting and humourous! It was fun!
I'm thinking of catching more Korean variety shows like Banjun Drama and Love Letter. They seem so much more fun than local and Taiwanese ones. In my opinion of course. :P
And so recently I was talking to a close friend about some family problems and we started discussing the common family problems lately. Problems like both parents working with nobody to shower love on the children, spoilt rotten and rude kids, children running away from home. It made me wonder, where have all the family values gone? It was just last year that I gave a presentation on the importance of family values. It's true what he said, that the government isn't doing enough to solve these problems. More family problems? Oh, just introduce more family counsellors. But that is really not going to help anything. I hope more can be done to solve these problems before it does considerable damage to society.
Which brings me to the education system in Singapore. There's been quite a lot of changes to the system, in a positive way. Besides the opening of private schools, top students in the Normal Academic stream will get to skip N levels and go on to O levels and new O level subjects have been introduced : computer studies, drama and economics. Also, many schools are taking in students not just based on their academic ability but also for their talents. I applaud this brilliant changes! The education system has been constantly improving, the latest before this being "Teach less, learn more" where teachers are encouraged to, well, "teach less" so that the students "learn more". Hopefully these improvements will lessen the stress faced by students and teachers.
This has been a long post! I'll end off by posting some photos I took at the PAP/NTUC carnival, "Experience the world" in Singapore Expo!

Anyway, this 1-week school break went by really fast. Mon-Wed, had to return to school from morning to evening. Thursday-Sunday was spent on homework and resting... And some enjoyment. Let's see now...
Monday
Had bio class, afterwhich I met Mr Low for a while... And ended the day with my Bio life science compeition team meeting.
Tuesday
E maths from 7.30am to 9am, A maths from 11am-1pm, Physics from 2-4pm. TIRING day to say the least.
Wednesday
Social Studies from 8.30 to 10.30, afterwhich I hung around with Liah while waiting for our respective appointments. And so, after lingering in the library, doing work, listening to music and playing with my camera, had lunch at Macs (3rd time in 5 days!). Met Mr Chan until about 6pm. I was very happy and despite all I was going through, in those few hours I spent with him, I could let go of everything for a while. It felt really good. :D
Thursday
Went for a morning movie with Liah (One More Chance), lunched at Galileo Cafe (at Ngee Ann Poly) and did a little Chemistry.
Friday
Dedicated the whole day to resting and just relaxing.
Saturday
Watched The Maid with dad and sis. It was quite good but not really scary... Kinda sad though. Oh, and I met 2 Mediacorp actors.
Today
Family Day at Jurong Birdpark. It made me really tired and irritated. Had lunch at Banquet Jurong Point and walked around a bit before going home. Went for religious class which ended on a rather grim note : 10 signs that the world is ending. And from that, I trust that the world isn't about to end anytime soon. :D
Oh, and I just burnt the area above my finger... The oven burnt me! I shed tears of fear, fear of a scar. But everything will be ok. :)

Okay, so on Friday, 26th August, it was Nie San's birthday! I left before the cake-cutting "ceremony" so I didn't get to eat her cake! But it was a fun gathering, singing Karaoke and eating pizza. :)
And as promised, the Nissan Fairlady Z model I bought from Toys 'R' Us.
The "It's Raining" CD/DVD and bottle set! It is so gorgeous, I tell you. For $21.50, it is worth every cent of my (& my sister's) money!
Close-up of the bottle.
And that's it. :D
